Other Ways To Give
Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock via a direct transfer to the Special Forces Charitable Trust. Giving a gift of stock may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash. Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on the increased value. You may also save the cost of brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.
If you would like to donate stock to the Special Forces Charitable Trust, please contact our office for instructions. We will track your gift of stock and properly acknowledge your gift and forward information regarding your tax deduction.
“Leave a Legacy” is our program for donors who are interested in making an estate gift, ensuring the continued financial support of the Green Beret and his Family. There are many charitable planned giving options available to you. You can make a planned gift to The Special Forces Charitable Trust by naming it as a beneficiary of your last will and testament, life insurance policy, retirement plan, or charitable trust.
Some of the above-mentioned planned giving strategies may have a greater tax benefit to you than others, so please consult with your attorney or financial advisor on which strategy would work best for you.
